During the summer of 2012, EVOL began independently recording LIVE (that’s “to live”, not “live music”), what was to be our debut album, with our friend Ross McGowan. Recordings were successful, however, as we approached the end of the tracking sessions, we encountered and began talks with a certain gentleman who promised many things in terms of management and production, as well as a promising future. The first stage of his plan was for us to abandon the LIVE album, citing it as too dark, and instead have us spend a lot, lot more money on recordings with Chem19 Studios, which would then become the Eigengrau EP. As pleased as we were with the sessions and the finished product, we were not pleased with the said gentlemen who turned out to be, as a lot of bands have certainly experienced, a total bullshitter. The LIVE recordings remained unmixed and abandoned, and EVOL went on hiatus indefinitely. However, we did acquire versions of the eight tracks with a basic mix and to be honest, they’re not bad. So here it is, EVOL - LIVE. Hope you like it.
